About me 🫕🐛

I'm an indie game developer based in France, currently developing my first commercial game with my partner. Our game 'Solen' is an adventure game with investigative and decision-making elements unfolding in a seaside resort for spirits. As the player becomes trapped in this mysterious locale, they are compelled to take charge of the hotel following the former manager's disappearance. Their journey unfolds as they seek answers, with the ultimate goal of finding a way back home.

I aim to document my journey in developing this game, share random thoughts on various topics, while experimenting with my interests in Low-Tech web and HTML/CSS.

Why this blog?

I miss the old web, when simply exploring the internet was a joy. There was something intimate, creative, and exciting about it, like a treasure hunt, never knowing what to expect when clicking on someone's blog. It felt relaxing compared to endless scrolling and the pressure of likes and views. The virtual world didn't follow us when we left the computer room. We weren't bombarded with irrelevant notifications, and we didn't feel constantly available to everyone.

I want to try to reclaim some of that, even though I'm realistic: I can't fully detach from other social platforms with my profession. Being an independent game developer requires creating content in the hopes of being noticed, of building a community if you ever want to make a living from it. So, I'm carving out this little corner for myself because I want to rediscover the joy of being on the internet.
